1) Originality - Don't go around calling yourself 'The Game' or 'The Legend Killer.' The best thing about RolePlaying is you get to make your entire original character, not just rip off one that's already been done in real life. Try to be original with your character and your RolePlays as well. Don't write the same promo week after week about you going out to the ring and telling the crowd you're going to kick your opponent's ass, that's about as unoriginal as it gets. Switch it up each week, maybe you go to the gym one week, have an interview the next, hang out with your friends or family, there's so many different options out there.
2) Entertainment - I think this is a pretty obvious one as no one wants to sit there and read a long, boring, uneventful RolePlay. Make it funny or interesting or anything you think will entertain us. We read a lot of RolePlays each week, make yours stand out. This also ties in with RolePlay length... as all eFeds we go by quality over quantity, but like all eFeds it's very hard for a 20 line RolePlay to entertain us. But at the same time, it's even harder for a 10,000 word RolePlay to entertain us. There's no need for garbage wordage (i.e. unnecessary words used solely to boost your RP length), just write enough to get your point across.
3) Opponent Detail - Did you mention your match? We all love character development (more on that later), but don't write an entrie RP about you going to the mall with your friends and never even discussing your match. What you say about your opponent is very important and how you say it is very important too.
4) Character Development - We don't expect you to go from school nerd to college jock in one RolePlay, but a little character growth would go a long way. Character Development is a very real part of life, so why should it be excluded from your RolePlays?
5) Storyline - The only way to build up a good storyline is to bring it out in your RolePlays. Hype it up, give it more depth, build on it in any way that you can. The worst thing you could do is pretend that one doesn't exist, not mentioning you current feud does nothing to further your career in eFeds.
6) Descriptive - This isn't television, all that we can see is the picture you paint for us. We have no idea what you're doing, what you'r wearing, or what your surroundings are like... unless you describe them for us. Trust us, it's a lot easier for us to understand your RolePlays if we can see them in our head.
7) Realism - Be realistic to your character, if you're a face, don't beat up little kids. Also, be realistic to the world you live in. We don't expect you to hijack an aircraft carrier and go to war with Japan, while that may be funny, it's also very unrealistic. Keep it real.
8) Spelling & Grammar - If we have no idea what you're saying, it's going to be very hard for you to win a match. It's ok to spell check your work, it's better than rushing it and posting an RP with so many errors in it that we can't even read it.
9) Presentation - The look of your RolePlay can go a long way for you. If it's neat, presentable, and easy to follow the chances will be higher of us liking it. Working in a kitchen, everyone is always told customers make up their mind about their food the second they see it, before even tasting it. If it looks good chances are it probably is good. Try to use different colors for each person when they speak and then have a seperate color for your descriptions. Space things out, don't just bunch your entire RolePlay into one paragraph. No one is expecting you to have your own RolePlay layout and your own website, just try to make it look organized and presentable.
Again, this isn't a list of rules. You can venture from this list all you want, it's simply here to help you understand how we grade your RolePlays.
